Specialty Minerals Inc. (SMI) developed ABT® 2501 talc antiblock to minimize, if not eliminate, undesirable odors created in certain polyolefin polymer applications. (Often these odors intensify during shipment of pellets by truck or rail.) This same technology can eliminate odors in consumer-product applications that occur in confined spaces—for example, automotive air conditioning systems. ABT® 2501 talc antiblock functions in polyolefin formulations and processes just like ABT® 2500 talc antiblock and includes additional preparation steps to achieve the odor reduction.
Contact SMI for more information if you have an odor-sensitive film application in mind.
